Boston Final Cut Pro Users Group Meeting - TONIGHT
7:00 PM Wong Auditorium MIT Cambridge
Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2002.

Cool News! We'll be raffling off another copy of Final Cut Pro 3. We're asking for a $5 donation (give what you can), which includes 5 tickets to the Big Dig Raffle. And, in an effort to streamiline our event we will be merging the Big Dig Raffle and our Questions from the Hat together. Ask a question, win a prize!

What's in store for April? Our next meeting is going to be a post-NAB EVENT. Our "Man About Town" Tim Wilson will discuss what's new with BorisFX and demo the AMAZING new title 3d generator in FCP 3. Local FCP guru David Bigelow will focus on what's NEW at NAB and will present his 8 minute short, "5 Days to Sunday," filmed in 24P HDCAM and edited on FCP. And Don Berube from Canon USA will join forces with Focus Enhancements and Lacie to show how you can now CAPTURE WHILE YOU SHOOT by recording directly to a FireWire PocketDrive on the Canon Xl1S camera with the new portable FireStore.

We are also very pleased to announce that local indie filmmaker MARLO PORAS will join us. Marlo recently completed "Mai's America," a feature documentary edited in FCP and which recently won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the South by Southwest Film Festival. "Mai's America" will air nationally on PBS' P.O.V. series in August, and will be screened at the upcoming New England Film and Video Festival and Visions du Reel in Nyon, Switzerland (complete schedule at (www.marloporas.com). Marlo will show excerpts from her film and discuss the DV filmmaking process in a SPECIAL DV roundtable panel with Tim Wilson, author Charles Roberts, David Bigelow, and indie filmmaker Lorre Fritchy (www.masterpeaceproductions.com).

And don't forget the Big Dig Raffle, featuring a copy of Final Cut Pro 3!
