EvoCam - A webcam using your Canon GL2 and a Mac.
I just found the easiest way to use your Canon GL2 as a webcam.

This software is so easy to use even a baby could install it!

These are the 3 steps I took to get my webcam going.

1. Download and copy the EvoCam software to your applications folder.
2. Open up EvoCam. Under the Options tab, set "Save image locally" to a folder on your .mac disk. I chose sites/webcam.
3. Copy the webcam.html file to your .mac sites/webcam folder.

That's it!

All you have to do now is attach your GL2 with the Firewire cable to your Mac. Then in EvoCam choose the refresh rate. If you want to select an image to display on your webcam, just click the 'Now" button and that image will be your webcam image.

Amazon.com : An Interview with Michael Wohl, author of Editing Techniques with Final Cut Pro
Tell your stories! We all have stories to tell. Now the tools are cheaper than ever. You've got no excuse not to get out there and make your own films. Make a music video for your friend's band, make a Public Service Announcement for a cause you believe in, make a documentary or fiction film about the things that matter to you. As far as editing, learn your fundamentals, your editing ABCs. I strongly believe in breaking the rules, but you need to learn the rules in order to break them. The more you cut, the easier it gets and the more fun it is. Each film is an adventure, and above all, remember to have fun. This is your life, if you're not enjoying yourself, you're missing the point.

Each eight-minute episode has been drawn from actual events (to some degree) and thus the primary filming was done inside our house. Editing was done on Final Cut Pro.
